As part of a protection team, you may be in dangerous situations with physical confrontations in and around a vehicle. Your objective needs to be to minimize your protectee’s exposure to risk and injury. In this course, you will learn techniques to defend your protectee, yourself and other members of your team. Your increased confidence to effectively utilize defensive tactics will prepare you and your team for a crisis and reduce your organization's overall liability.
- This initial phase of this program introduces students to the fundamentals of the unique approach to defensive tactics that VCDT is built upon – Living Mechanics® – and how to effectively apply them within the context of a physical confrontation in or around a vehicle while maintaining a proportional use of force and minimizing your protectee’s exposure to risk.
- Due to the rapidly fluid nature of protecting others, this class is designed for professional Security Drivers, protection practitioners, and others who may be forced to defend themselves and others while in and around a vehicle.
- The focal points of this first phase of the program include proportional use of force, stance and balance, practical defensive and kinetic measures, proper use of cover and dynamic, scenario-based practical exercises.
- Our highly-skilled instructors will bring real-world experiences to this course, ensuring you and your team will become confident at effectively utilizing the defensive tactics trained. With the instructor-led scenario-based, hands-on training, your team will be prepared to act during any crisis involving your protectee(s).
- This course will provide you and your team with the knowledge and skills to keep your protectee safe while reducing your organization’s overall liability.
